Good morning Dream Beach! Eating breakfast in this tranquil setting before we go snorkeling.
Snorkeling was amazing this morning in Crystal Bay. We took a boat out to get there amp; it was completely worth it. The coral was filled the most INCREDIBLE colors amp; so many different varieties of fish. Kelly said she hasn't seen coral with so many colors anywhere. My favorite fish was a kind that had black stripes down the tail amp; bright pink stripes coming down from their eyes.
The setting was breath-taking! Heaven on earth! It was totally out of my comfort zone to do this (not usually psyched about being in large bodies of water) but I faced my fears amp; was so grateful! A gorgeous, colorful garden was waiting for us under the water's surface!
After snorkeling we went back for another full body massage on the beach. HEAVEN. Feeling like I'm finally unwinding from the hectic, busy, endless task list lifestyle I've grown used to. Feels fantastic to lean into the "art of leisure."
They sell gelato in the dive shop on Lembangon amp; I thought this sign was awesome. So funny to see the prices of things here from what we're used to in the USA (only $20,000 for a small gelato).
We barely made it to the last boat leaving the island to get back to Bali. The driver that was supposed to pick us up misunderstood where we were on the island (didn't understand our English well even though he said he did). So, we ended up scrambling to find another option by walking down the road for a little while until some young teenage boys came by riding with friends on their scooters. We asked them to take us to the bay quickly so we wouldn't miss the boat leaving in 15 min. They agreed amp; we each hopped on the back of one their scooters (praying they understood where we said we needed to go). It was a crazy 10 min ride to the bay with these boys going really fast on their scooters over pretty crappy roads full of big pot holes (prayed a lot the whole ride). But, we made it just in time to catch the boat!
Bali has been expecting their rainy season to start for over 4 weeks now. Things are starting to look really dry. The local priests, priestesses, and people are praying for rain. As we left Lombongan Island a miracle happened: it started raining! Rainbows hung over the island as we drove away on the boat. Truly magical.
On the way back in the boat we saw these local fisherman fishing in the ocean. LOVE.
Now we're at Kelly's house (which is an amazing, inspiring space). Ready to hit the sack. Jet lag is setting in and I am feeling EXHAUSTED.
